Boris Johnson states that Ukrainians have “fought heroically” and achieved great success in certain places.
After speaking to the Ukrainian president over the phone, the prime minister indicated that things aren’t going according to plan.
He added that more must be done to “change Ukraine’s heavy odds of being invaded by Russia.”
He indicated that stricter sanctions, including one to ban Russia from the global system of payments Swift, were required.
During a visit made to RAF Brize Norton near Oxfordshire by the prime Minister, he said that the UK was sending humanitarian aid, financial support, and military equipment to Ukraine.
He mentioned that 1,000 soldiers were being sent in the region to aid the influx of refugees. He also stated that the government would “ofcourse help people fleeing from their lives”.
“Things have not gone all the way with President Putin. Johnson stated that although the Ukrainians are far from winning, they are fighting valiantly in certain areas with great success.
Heappey claimed Russian troops were bypassing his “key” cities due to the “dogged Ukrainian opposition”.
Johnson stated that there were some “terrible atrocities,” and that Ukraine was facing some “very dark days”.
