Russia has expressed deep concern over the recent border tensions between Pakistan and India. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, while talking to the media in Moscow, said that Russia is viewing the rising tensions on the Pakistan-India border very seriously.

Peskov said,
“We are closely monitoring the situation and attach great importance to our friendly relations with both countries.”

The Russian spokesman stressed that Pakistan and India should use restraint, dialogue and diplomatic means for peace and stability in the region. He said that Russia has always been a supporter of de-escalation of tensions in the region and constructive dialogue.

Experts say that this statement by Russia reflects the growing concern of the international community, which could affect world peace in the event of a possible conflict in South Asia.

This stance of Russia not only demonstrates its balanced relations with both Pakistan and India, but also reflects its responsible diplomatic thinking for world peace.
