Names of 4,300 “beggars” added in ECL, Interior Minister tells Saudi counterpart

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Nasir bin Abdulaziz here today. The agenda of the meeting included promotion of Pak-Saudi relations, mutual exchange of paramilitary forces, police and joint training issues and other issues of mutual interest. An important outcome of the meeting was Naqvi’s proposal to declare Islamabad and Riyadh as ‘Riyadh’. The Saudi delegate of the twin cities agreed to this proposal.The two leaders also discussed the crackdown on the mafia that sends beggars from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia. Naqvi said that the names of 4,300 beggars have been included in the Exit Control List (ECL). The two countries also agreed to implement a prisoner exchange agreement. The legal process for the return of 419 Pakistani prisoners will be completed soon. Naqvi said while talking about bilateral cooperationThat Pakistan will provide all possible support to Saudi Arabia. The Home Minister said that a zero tolerance policy has been adopted against beggars. Naqvi said that Saudi citizens do not need a visa to come to Pakistan. He also praised Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030. Saudi Deputy Interior Minister reiterated the importance of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He said that Saudi Arabia wants to further promote relations with Pakistan.The Saudi minister said that we are ready for the exchange and joint training of paramilitary forces and police.
