‘Arms for Peace’: Khawaja Asif says IDEAS 2024 to boost Pakistan’s defence industry

– Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on Tuesday that the International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 will boost the country’s defense industry. The minister was addressing the inaugural session of Ideas 2024 held at the Expo Center here. He welcomed the foreign delegates and visitors and urged them to “make the most of the exhibition”. The chiefs of the three armed forces also participated in the inauguration ceremony. The Minister said that the slogan of Ideas 2024 is “Weapons for Peace” as Pakistan is a peace-loving country. “Pakistan believes in resolving issues through dialogue,” he said. He said that Pakistan’s defense industry is on the rise. “The public and private sectors can play an important role in increasing defense production,” he added. He further said that exports of defense equipment will help strengthen the country’s economy.The Defense Minister said that Ideas 2024 will be a regional gateway. “Promoting connectivity is essential for regional peace and socio-economic development,” he said. Ideas 2024 is showcasing indigenously developed defense products with over 550 exhibitors from around the world setting up stalls. Global defense experts are showing keen interest in the exhibition. Ideas 2024 is one of the priorities of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) whichThe aim is to increase exports, including defense equipment. Meanwhile, tight security measures have been taken for the exhibition. Roads leading to the Expo Center have been closed to traffic. Traffic will also be suspended from 7 am to 7 pm on roads leading to Expo Center from Faisal Highway. Karachi Traffic Police has issued a traffic plan during Ideas 2024.
