Pakistani professional Ayla Majeed made history as the first South Asian and Muslim to be elected as the President of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Energy, mergers, acquisitions and corporate governance. During her one-year term, Ayla will lead ACCA’s 252,500 members and 526,000 future members in 180 countries. She intends to emphasize the evolving role of accountants under the theme:”A New Future of Accountancy with a Strategic Lens and a Stakeholder Perspective.” Ayala, an MBA graduate from LUMS and a law graduate from University of London, is also the first president of ACCA from Pakistan. ACCA and its members celebrated their success. With Vice-President Melanie Proffitt (UK) and Vice-President Datuk Zeitun Mohd Hassan (Malaysia).
