The world’s most advanced bionic arm

A UK start-up has created the world’s first wireless bionic arm that can operate independently of the wearer.

Bristol-based Open Bionics has spent four years developing its cutting-edge Hero bionic arm, which the company claims is the world’s most advanced robotic arm.

Open Bionics co-founder and CEO Samantha Penn said it is twice as fast, stronger and lighter than existing bionic arms. It is also the first bionic arm to be completely waterproof and wireless.

She added that it is a major step towards changing the industry.Since its launch in 2014, more than 1,000 users have benefited from Open Bionics’ products, which include 3D scanning and 3D printing to create custom-made bionic arms for people with disabilities.
