Talks with PTI top agenda as PM Shehbaz chairs cabinet meeting

Negotiations with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were among the key issues listed on the agenda as the Federal Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif began at PM House in Islamabad on Tuesday. the meeting will review the country’s political and economic situation, while consultations will also be held on negotiations with the opposition and other legal matters.The TV channel reported that the federal cabinet is set to approve a significant agenda of critical points during the session.It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday, the first round of high-stakes negotiations between the government and the main opposition party, the PTI, concluded in Islamabad with an agreement to hold the next round of parleys on January 2, in which the Tehreek -e-Insaaf was asked to present his charter of demands.Four PTI leaders out of a seven-member committee were absent during the first round of in-camera talks at the Parliament House, which was chaired by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.The next meeting is scheduled to take place on January 2, during which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will present its charter of demands and the government side will respond to it.During the talks on Monday, PTI representatives demanded the release of all prisoners, including the party’s founder and former prime minister, Imran Khan.
