Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has arrived in Washington to finalize preparations for US President Donald Trump’s expected visit to Saudi Arabia.
According to sources close to the Saudi government, the visit will be President Trump’s first foreign trip of his second term.Last month, Trump indicated that he could visit Saudi Arabia in April, as he did at the start of his first presidency in 2017.
Sources say that Prince Faisal’s visit is not only to prepare for Trump’s visit to Riyadh, but also to discuss the situation in Gaza, Yemen and Syria.According to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal will discuss important regional and global issues in his meeting with his US counterpart Marco Rubio.
In January this year, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced a $600 billion investment in the United States, to which President Trump said that Saudi Arabia was ready to spend about $1 trillion on American companies, which would create jobs in the United States.
According to analysts, Trump will try to make the restoration of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel a major foreign policy achievement during this visit.
