Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has assured fans that opener Saim Ayub’s recovery is progressing as planned, with his plaster expected to be removed within the next two days.Speaking during his visit to the United States, Naqvi emphasized the board’s commitment to the long-term well-being of players, saying, “I am in constant touch with the team regarding his condition, and I will not risk his future for a single. event.”Ayub, who sustained an ankle injury during the opening day of the Cape Town Test against South Africa, has been advised six weeks of rest.Reports from London-based doctors ruled out the need for surgery, stating that the player can regain full fitness through a structured rehabilitation plan.His selection for upcoming matches remains subject to medical clearance.The PCB chairman added that after Ayub transitions into the recovery phase, he will undergo rehabilitation to ensure a full return to fitness.Meanwhile, sources suggest the proposed squad for the ICC Champions Trophy includes prominent names such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Fakhar Zaman.The final list will be reviewed following Ayub’s medical reports and doctors’ recommendations.The selection committee has reportedly finalized its roster, which is pending Mohsin Naqvi’s approval.
