Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that some individuals within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are conspiring to harm Imran Khan while he is in jail.Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Vawda accused Imran Khan of being warned about the consequences of his actions, including legal ramifications and potential jail time.”I have been warning the former prime minister for two years about internal threats to his safety and external pressures mounting against him.”Responding to the PTI’s expectations of a January 20 “Trump card,” Vawda dismissed the claim, calling it baseless. “PTI is waiting for January 20 for a big surprise, but they will face disappointment.Their so-called Trump card is already nullified,” he said, emphasizing that the party’s current strategies, including relying on foreign support, will yield no benefits.”Being popular does not place anyone above the law. Now, propaganda campaigns are being waged against him, and those within his own party are exacerbating his problems”, he asserted.Former federal minister Vawda recalled advising Imran Khan about the 190 million-pound deal approval, saying, “I warned Imran Khan that a case would be filed, and he would face a prison sentence. He asserted that Imran Khan will not escape punishment in the 190-million-pound case.He also criticized Khan’s leadership during his time in office, claiming that the former PM’s decisions, including the alleged mismanagement of state institutions and confrontational politics, have led to his current predicament.”Imran Khan thought he could solve issues through intimidation. First, it was politics of aggression, and now the party stands with a begging bowl,” he remarked. The former minister highlighted the economic and strategic shift in Pakistan’s standing globally, praising the army chief for securing international confidence.”Through backdoor diplomacy, Pakistan has moved from a ‘do more’ stance to asking, ‘What can you do for us?’ The winds are changing in Pakistan’s favor globally, and this is thanks to the efforts of the armed forces,” he said said.Commenting on the evolving political landscape, Vawda stressed that Pakistan is on the verge of a brighter future due to effective leadership and global alliances. He called for transparency and unity, stating that “if PTI and the military had worked together earlier, many issues could have been resolved.” Vawda reiterated his warning about threats to Khan’s safety and urged his associates to prioritize his security. “If anything happens to Imran Khan, it will leave his party a legacy of 40-50 years of politics, but at what cost?”It is time for PTI to focus on saving its leader rather than fueling further chaos,” he concluded.
