PTI moves DC Lahore to seek permission for rally at Minar-e-Pakistan

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally submitted a request to the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore seeking permission to hold a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.The application was filed by PTI Punjab Vice President Akmal Khan Bari, emphasizing the party’s right to conduct a peaceful rally.According to the application, PTI has sought authorization for the gathering in connection with Pakistan Resolution Day, which falls on March 23.The party has urged authorities to allow the peaceful event, citing its significance in promoting the ideology behind the historic Pakistan Resolution.”PTI, as the country’s largest political party, intends to hold a peaceful rally on March 22,” the request states.Akmal Khan Bari also reiterated in the request that peaceful assembly is a fundamental right of PTI, aligning with democratic principles.The rally is planned to commemorate and spread awareness about the ideology of March 23, 1940, when the Lahore Resolution was passed, leading to the eventual creation of Pakistan.PTI’s leadership believes that such an event will reinforce the importance of the historic day and its relevance to the nation’s progress, he added.As of now, the Lahore administration has not yet issued a decision regarding the application.
