PTI is not capable of running a movement with the current leadership, Sher Afzal Marwat openly criticizes

Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has harshly criticized the party leadership and said that PTI is currently in the hands of a leadership that has neither organizational capacity nor movement vision. He said that the date of August 5 given by Imran Khan will prove to be a mere formal announcement because there is no preparation or strategy in the party that can make this date the basis of the movement.

Leadership in chaos, pressure from those with limited access to Imran Khan
Talking to the media in Karachi, Sher Afzal Marwat said:

“There is severe chaos in the inner circles of the party. A few people are taking advantage of Imran Khan’s captivity to tighten their grip on the party, and the team around them is holding the party hostage.”

He said that the personal desires of these people have prevailed over the party’s interests, due to which the organizational structure is weak and divided.

August 5 or 90 days? The leadership’s narrative is contradictory
Sher Afzal Marwat clarified that Imran Khan had announced the launch of a new political movement on August 5, 2025, but the party’s central leadership, on the contrary, has confused the workers by presenting a vague plan for 90 days.

“This contradiction is a sign that the leadership itself is not serious and does not have a clear roadmap to run the movement.”

Factionalism within the party, accusation of putting pressure on Aleema Khan
Marwat also openly questioned the role of Aleema Khan for the first time, saying:

“A group led by Aleema Khan wants to gain leadership by putting pressure on party officials, but instead of love or argument, attempts to convince with force are alienating the workers.”

He called it a setback for the party’s ideological workers.

An attempt to destabilize the leadership in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa?

Sher Afzal Marwat said that the leadership is being deliberately divided in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“Ali Amin Gandapur is the provincial president, but a deliberate attempt is being made to politically weaken Ali Amin by bringing Junaid Akbar to the front.”

He questioned the party policy and said that “conflict is being preferred instead of creating harmony.”

Workers still with Imran Khan, leadership an obstacle
At the end of the conversation, Sher Afzal Marwat said:

“The ideological workers of the party are still standing behind Imran Khan, but unfortunately the current leadership is the biggest obstacle in their way.”

He demanded that the party be run with a clear, coherent and democratic strategy, otherwise this organization will only become a monument of the past.

Analysis: Movement or contradiction?

Sher Afzal Marwat’s statements not only expose the internal crisis of the PTI but also point to the fact that if organizational reforms are not carried out immediately, Imran Khan’s public popularity may also be a victim of the incompetence of the leadership.
