PP-8 Sibi by-election today amid stringent security measures

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), all arrangements have been finalized for the by-elections in PP-8 Sabi on Sunday (today), polling will begin at 8 am and will continue till 5 pm without any break. As a result of the current acts of terrorism in Balochistan, tight security arrangements have been made so that voters can exercise their right to vote peacefully. Earlier, the Home Department had requested to suspend mobile phone and internet services in Sabi.November 17, the polling day for PB-8 Sabi, to prevent any security threats or disruptions during the election. The Balochistan government aims to ensure peaceful and transparent elections in Sabi as well as in those areas where the Election Tribunal has ordered re-elections. The interior department official said that polling is going on at disputed polling stations in Quetta and Mangochar.
