Political issues can be resolved through dialogue, government does not want confrontation: Rana Sanaullah

Islamabad – July 7, 2025:
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has stressed that the political and electoral issues facing the country are not resolved through confrontation but through dialogue, consultation and consensus. He said that the government is ready for dialogue with all stakeholders so that the democratic process can be strengthened.

In an exclusive interview, Rana Sanaullah said that the government’s policy is based on avoiding confrontation and promoting parliamentary traditions. He said that all parties must show responsibility for political stability.

Talking about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, he clarified that he is in judicial custody and the decision on any meeting or access is the discretion of the court rather than the government.

On the objections raised regarding reserved seats, Rana Sanaullah said that constitutional and legal channels have been adopted in all these matters. He said that “repeated allegations and contradictory statements undermine the public’s trust in the system, which is detrimental to the democratic process.”

He urged all political parties to return to parliament, fulfill their constitutional responsibility and play a constructive role in the national interest.

Rana Sanaullah said that the solution to the economic and political challenges facing the country at present lies only in national consensus and serious dialogue.
