PM welcomes ceasefire between Israel, Hezbollah

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has welcomed Thursday’s announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah. In his post on X, the prime minister hoped that the announcement would lead to a permanent end to hostilities in Lebanon. “We seek peace for the people of Lebanon. And security in the country,” the prime minister said. Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to the Palestinian cause, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.. The Foreign Secretary was addressing the second meeting of the “Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution” held in Brussels, Belgium today.
