The Peshawar High Court (PHC) dismissed the petition filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) notice, heard by Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Waqar Ahmed. The lawyer argued that NAB can only start an inquiry for 500 million but this case is only for 304 million, in response to which Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim remarked. That means that the petitioner is satisfied with the recent amendments of NAB. The counsel humorously agreed. The NAB prosecutor told the court that the inquiry was still ongoing and the earlier notice had expired. He said that no new notice has been issued yet. Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim then inquired whether under the recent amendments NAB can inquire more than 50 crores. The NAB prosecutor replied that the inquiry is still ongoing, he cannot. Display the exact amount, which may exceed 500 million. He further said that no fresh notice was issued due to non-appearance of the petitioner. The court remarked that since no fresh notice was issued, the case will be disposed of, PHC against the NAB notice. Ali Amin Gandapur’s application dismissed.
