Pakistan’s economy can reach $2 trillion: British High Commissioner

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott says that Pakistan is a country with a young population, with mutual cooperation, Pakistan’s economy can reach $2 trillion.Addressing a conference in Islamabad, Jane Marriott said that Britain is the largest financial services provider in the world.

She said that Britain is the second largest business services provider and the third largest trade services provider and the third largest economy in the world.The British High Commissioner said that Britain and Pakistan have two sides of strategic relations.

She said that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Britain is 4.4 billion pounds, Pakistan and Britain will take bilateral trade to 10 billion pounds, Britain is keen to invest in Pakistan.Jane Marriott said that Pakistan has taken excellent steps, which the IMF has also praised, Britain also appreciates Pakistan’s excellent steps.

He said that they are providing full support in the health, education and engineering sectors and are also providing support in the engineering sector, including the Reko Diq project. Britain is also fully supporting Pakistan in climate change.

The British High Commissioner also said that they are with Pakistan in economic reforms and will provide all possible support for improvement. They are working on macroeconomics in Pakistan through a $ 45 million program and are investing in power sector reforms, including clean and green energy.
