Pakistan, China agree to bolster intelligence sharing, border security

Pakistan and China have agreed to increase cooperation to further improve intelligence sharing between the two countries.The agreement was reached at a two-hour-long meeting between Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi with his Chinese counterpart Qi Yanjun in Beijing on Wednesday.Both also discussed the ways and means through which the countries’ borders could be made secure.Similarly, discussion was also held on how to train police and the paramilitary forces on modern lines.Likewise, Naqvi discussed with his Chinese counterpart the purchase of sophisticated weapons for the police.Both agreed to increase cooperation between the Beijing Police and the Islamabad Police.The two expressed satisfaction over the Joint Working Group’s meeting held in January.Naqvi, on the occasion, invited the Chinese interior minister to visit Pakistan.
