National Fiberisation Policy to be devised for high speed internet coverage

The government has decided to formulate a National Fiberization Policy for high-speed internet coverage to boost local investment. The Ministry of Information Technology has started working on a policy to upgrade internet speed. High speed internet infrastructure will be installed to meet the demands of the digital world. National Fabrication will increase broadband coverage and reduce the digital divide between urban and rural areas across the country.. This policy is designed to meet the requirements of 5G technology. Social and economic development will be promoted in education, health, e-governance and other sectors. Equipment and tools to promote optical fiber and other local investments will be ‘made in Pakistan’, according to the documents. The National Fiberization Policy will play an important role in digital transformation.” The long-haul optical fiber is 75,967 km, IT ministry documents saidWhile the total metro optical fiber spread across the country is 135,506 km.
