Modi’s BJP says US State Department targeting India

– Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the US State Department and “deep state” elements of working with investigative journalists and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi to try to destabilize India. Surprisingly, New Delhi and Washington have developed strong ties over the past two decades and both have vowed to further strengthen ties despite some differences and irritations.that articles from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) were used to undermine Modi, focusing on his alleged closeness to the Adani Group and the government. The government has previously denied both allegations. The BJP has earlier accused Gandhi, OCCRP and 92-year-old billionaire financier George. On Thursday, he cited a French media report that said the OCCRP was funded by a US agency.
