The Anti-Terrorism Court has pronounced its verdict in the honey trap and kidnapping for ransom case of renowned playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar.
The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has convicted three accused in the honey trap and kidnapping for ransom case of renowned playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar while acquitting the others.
While pronouncing the verdict in the case, Judge Arshad Javed sentenced the accused Amna Urooj, Mamnoon Haider and Zeeshan to seven years in prison for demanding ransom.
However, the court ruled that the charge of kidnapping could not be proven, hence no punishment was given on this basis.
The court acquitted Hassan Shah and other named persons due to insufficient evidence. According to the court, the prosecution recorded the testimonies of 17 witnesses, in the light of which the verdict was pronounced.
It should be remembered that in this case, Khalilur Rehman Qamar was falsely accused of honey trapping and was later asked to answer.
