Islamabad High Court seeks response from jail authorities to ensure implementation of court orders

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has sought a response from jail authorities on the non-compliance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur with PTI Chairman Imran Khan, making it clear that violation of court orders will not be tolerated.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, while hearing the case, said that respect for the court is mandatory for everyone and if the court order is proven to be violated, strict action will be taken against the concerned authorities.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zahoor-ul-Hassan Advocate, took the stand that despite the court’s orders of September and October 2024, his client was not allowed to meet Imran Khan. To which the court inquired as to what was the nature of the order allowing the meeting and why it was not implemented.

Justice Arbab Tahir expressed his anger and said, “If the record is proven to be false, the court can also impose a fine, we will not compromise on law and justice.”

The court has sought a formal response from the jail authorities for a transparent investigation into the matter and the next hearing date will be fixed later.

This move is being considered a significant step towards strengthening judicial governance and protecting fundamental rights. Legal experts say that the court’s timely action is a manifestation of the fact that the supremacy of the constitution and law is being given priority in Pakistan at all times.
