Is the journey of Pakistan cricket team to participate in the Olympics easy or difficult?

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) board has decided to include six men’s and six women’s cricket teams in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Cricket in the Olympics will be played in the T20 format in which six teams will participate in the men’s and women’s competitions, each consisting of 15 players.

If we talk about whether Pakistan will have a cricket team in the Olympics or not, the answer is that Pakistan may face difficulties in qualifying for the Olympic competitions.

There are 12 full members of the International Cricket Council and in the current ICC rankings, Pakistan’s men’s team is at the seventh position and the women’s team is at the eighth position and the top 6 teams in the ICC rankings will qualify for the Olympics.

To improve Pakistan’s ranking for Olympic qualification, it is good that the board member of the Olympic Committee did not give a deadline for the I-K rankings as to when the teams need to be included in the rankings.I
