Iran’s uranium enrichment temporarily suspended due to US attacks, no intention to back down from nuclear program: Iranian Foreign Minister

Tehran / Washington (International Media) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has revealed that recent US air strikes have severely damaged Iran’s nuclear facilities, as a result of which the uranium enrichment process has been temporarily suspended. However, he said that Iran has no intention of abandoning its nuclear program.

“We will not back down”

In an interview given to an American TV channel, the Foreign Minister clearly stated:

“The uranium enrichment process has been temporarily affected, but Iran will not give up its nuclear sovereignty and scientific progress under any circumstances. We will restore it with full force.”

Not directly, but ready for talks
Despite the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, Abbas Araqchi said that Iran is not closing the door to talks. However, he made it clear that direct negotiations are not possible at the moment, and Iran would prefer to proceed with any contact through international mediation.

“We will not compromise on sovereignty, but are ready for a diplomatic solution to the conflict.”

Background: Iran-Israel tensions and US intervention

This statement comes at a time when the 12-day war between Iran and Israel has plunged the Middle East into a new state of tension. At the same time, on June 22, the US Air Force targeted Iran’s key nuclear facilities with B-2 bombers, which dealt a major blow to Iran’s nuclear activities.

Previous diplomatic efforts affected
It should be recalled that five rounds of talks have been held between Iran and the US in the past, which aimed to achieve transparency on nuclear activities and reduce tensions in the region. But the recent attacks and increasing confrontation have once again stalled these diplomatic efforts.

The world community’s eyes on Tehran
According to international experts and diplomatic circles, Iran’s new stance could spark a new debate at the global level, especially among the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and key stakeholders in the region. Observers say there is a possibility of tighter monitoring and possible diplomatic pressure on Iran’s nuclear activities.
