Hafiz Naeem Urges Ruling Classes to Prioritize Workers’ Welfare on Labor Day

Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has called on the federal and provincial governments to take concrete measures for the welfare of workers, emphasizing their pivotal role in national development.

In his message on International Labor Day, Hafiz Naeem highlighted the responsibilities of the ruling elite, stating that “protecting the rights of workers is not just a legal or political obligation, but a religious and humanitarian duty.”

He stressed that sustainable national progress is only possible when the rights and dignity of workers are safeguarded, urging the government to implement practical policies that improve labor conditions across the country.

Labor Day is being observed today in Pakistan and around the world, honoring the struggles and contributions of workers. A public holiday has been declared nationwide. In Pakistan, the official celebration of Labor Day began in 1973 during the tenure of Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Various events, seminars, rallies, and conferences are taking place across the country today, reaffirming solidarity with the working class and their rights.
