New Zealand easily defeated Pakistan by 78 runs in the opening match of the tri-nation cricket tournament. After winning the match, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner said that at one stage he was looking at a score of 280 or 300, but Glenn Phillips’ batting made the difference. The Kiwi captain said that his eyes are on Karachi. It should be remembered that the bowlers of the Pakistan cricket team gave away 56 runs in the last 19 balls and 123 runs in the last ten overs against New Zealand.
