Fire breaks out at Moss Landing Power Plant in California

A fire broke out at the Moss Landing Power Plant in Monterey County on Thursday evening, according to local officials. The fire is at Vistra’s energy facility.The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuation orders for surrounding areas, with a temporary evacuation point set up at the Castroville Recreation Center.As of 6:30 p.m., southbound Highway 1 at Salinas Road has been closed due to the fire, with no estimated time for reopening. Full road closures are in effect at Dolan Rd., Castroville Blvd., Highway 1 at Salinas Road, and Highway 1 at Merritt St.
