ECP wants Imran Khan’s appearance through video link in contempt case

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed the authorities to ensure the appearance of PTI founder Imran Khan in the ECP defamation case hearing. According to sources, a 4-member commission of ECP headed by Sindh member Nisar Durrani heard the contempt of court case against PTI founder Imran Khan. Khan was acquitted in the Tosha Khana case on WednesdayLawyer Faisal Chaudhry said that Imran Khan was arrested in another case, but his appearance was necessary for record evidence. During the hearing, officials told the court that PTI founder’s appearance would be possible through video link. The ECP directed the authorities to ensure the presence of Imran Khan in the court through video link on the next hearing. Member Sindh Nisar Durrani remarked that the ECP will record the statements of the witnesses at the next hearing.
