Earthquake hits Lahore, other Punjab cities

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake was felt in various cities of Lahore and Punjab, including Lahore, Jhelum, Kamalia and Gujarat, which caused widespread panic, people came out of houses and buildings, Nankana Sahib, Jalal. Earthquake tremors were also felt in cities including Pur Bhattian. Wazirabad, Shahkot, Bhalwal National Seismic Monitoring Center (NSMC) confirmed that the epicenter was near Kharian.The depth of which was 15 km. After the tremors of the earthquake, people came out of their houses reciting Kalima Tayyaba out of fear, but no loss of life or property was reported due to the tremors of the earthquake. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) confirmed receiving initial reports from all the people. Districts Authority of Punjab assured the public that no major damage has been reported. Provincial Control Room and District Emergency Operation Centers are functioning 24/7.
