Dubai (August 13, 2025) — Dubai International Airport, the UAE’s busiest airport, has issued a fresh set of guidelines and a list of prohibited items to ensure the convenience and security of passengers, which will be strictly enforced.

List of prohibited items
According to airport authorities, the following items will not be allowed to be carried in handbags or checked baggage:

Knives, blades, scissors, hammers, nails, screwdrivers, and other sharp instruments

Handcuffs, weapons, laser guns, walkie-talkies, martial arts equipment

Rope, packing tape, measuring tape, electrical cables

Lighters, matches or any type of flammable material

Other important instructions for passengers
Save time at the security gate: Avoid wearing metal jewelry or heavy objects to avoid obstructing the security scan.

Mobile Phone Limit: Each passenger can carry a maximum of 15 phones in addition to their personal phone, but they must be in sealed packaging. Open phones may be confiscated.

Passengers carrying medication: It is strictly forbidden to carry medication without a prescription. Each medication must be accompanied by an original prescription or certificate from a doctor.

Action for violation of security rules
Airport authorities have warned that violation of the rules may result in confiscation of luggage, fines or legal action. Passengers are advised to check the updated instructions with Dubai Customs and the airport’s official website before departure.
