Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Holds Telephonic Conversation with Malaysian Counterpart on Regional Peace and Cooperation

Islamabad, May 4 — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Seri Mohamad Hasan on Sunday to discuss recent regional developments and reaffirm mutual commitment to peace and cooperation.

During the call, Deputy Prime Minister Dar provided a detailed briefing on the evolving regional situation. He strongly condemned India’s recent provocative actions, including baseless allegations and inflammatory propaganda, as well as its unilateral move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty—an act that violates both treaty obligations and international law.

Senator Dar reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to regional peace and security, while affirming its right to protect national sovereignty and interests.

Foreign Minister Hasan expressed Malaysia’s support for Pakistan’s principled stance and emphasized the importance of restraint and dialogue in the interest of regional stability.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on the developing situation, highlighting the deep and friendly ties between Pakistan and Malaysia.
