Islamabad: The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and rain with strong winds in different parts of the country during the next 24 to 48 hours, while the weather is likely to remain hot and humid in most areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in several areas of northeast and south Punjab, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. There is also a risk of strong winds and gusty winds at some places during the rain.

Important areas with rain forecast:
Islamabad: Chance of rain at a few places.

Punjab: Murree, Galiat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Balochistan: Quetta, Ziarat, Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Musa Khel, Loralai, Zhob and Khuzdar.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai and Kurram.

Sindh: Rain likely at a few places in coastal areas.

Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan: Rain with thunder and strong winds expected.

The Meteorological Department has directed the citizens to exercise caution, take special care of the safety of their homes and vehicles and stay informed about the weather conditions while travelling. Farmers and related institutions have also been directed to take necessary measures to avoid possible losses.
