Bushra Bibi spearheads PTI convoys to D-Chowk after removing barriers

– Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, led by party founder Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, reached D-Chowk on Tuesday after removing roadblocks. Earlier, the convoys reached zero point on the central Islamabad-Srinagar highway where they clashed with law enforcement officials when they were stopped from marching further. The police fired tear gas shells at the protesters to disperse them. The protesters retaliated by pelting stones at the policemen. Government sources claimed that Imran Khan had agreed to change the location of the sit-in but Bushra Bibi remained adamant and vowed to reach D Chowk. On the other hand, Bushra Bibi said that some elements want to stop the march of PTI. However, Imran Khan asked them to reach D Chowk at any cost. He added that the party workers were also not ready to go anywhere else. Sources claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was tight-lipped about “decisions made in alleged negotiations [with the government]”. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan is also “silent” regarding the march.
