Britain to deploy fighter jets and other defence assets to Middle East for emergency response – Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s commitment

London: Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced that the UK has begun deploying its fighter jets and other defence assets to deal with a potential tense situation in the Middle East. He says that this move has been taken to ensure the UK’s national interests and global stability.

Speaking to reporters on the eve of leaving for the G7 summit, Prime Minister Starmer said:
“We are preparing for any emergency situation in the region. The UK will always make the right decisions in its own interests and in the interests of world peace.”

According to Downing Street, additional fast jets and refuelling ships have been sent to the Middle East under this move to provide immediate air support in the event of potential tension.

The move comes at a time when the international community is busy trying to control the situation after tensions between Israel and Iran increased. The British government says the deployment is purely defensive and aims to ensure stability in the region.

Starmer made it clear that Britain would stand by its allies in any situation, but he declined to elaborate on possible military actions or the UK’s specific role.

“These are operational decisions, and the situation is changing rapidly. We are making our presence in the region more active to deal with any unforeseen threats,” the prime minister said.

Observers say the UK’s move not only demonstrates its diplomatic and military influence in the region, but also reflects its strategy as a responsible global power.
