Bangladesh’s Dhaka University has lifted the ban on Pakistani students to promote bilateral academic ties. Pro Vice Chancellor (Admin) Professor Saima Haque said that Pakistani students will now be allowed to take admission in Dhaka University. Bangladeshi students will also get an opportunity to pursue higher education in Pakistan. The decision to lift the ban on Pakistani students is aimed at promoting educational cooperation between the two countries.This decision was taken on November 13 during the Syndicate meeting presided over by Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Niaz Ahmad Khan. This development comes after the change in the country’s political leadership following the resignation of Sheikh Hasina Wajid as Prime Minister. August 5. The former prime minister justified her resignation by saying that she wanted to prevent further bloodshed among students and the public. He emphasized thatI resigned to prevent more bodies from piling up on the streets.” Since Hasina’s departure, Bangladesh has been under a caretaker government led by Nobel laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Younis.
