Agreement signed for establishment of Dhabeji Special Economic Zone in Thatta

The government has signed an agreement with Chinese and local investors for building the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone in Thatta.The Dhabeji Special Economic Zone will be completed under a public-private partnership model in the second phase of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).The economic zone would serve as a major connectivity point for global trade routes as it locates near the ports of Karachi.This special economic zone is also expected to emerge as a crucial hub for both local and international investors.The imitative would also attract investment of $3 billion and create thousands of jobs.The Chinese businesses have expressed their desire to expand their presence in the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone.This agreement is considered a significant milestone in industrial cooperation between Pakistan and China for the revival of the national economy.
