PM Shehbaz hints at crackdown on miscreants, launch of riot force

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday chaired a high-level meeting on the current security situation, days after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s touchdown in the capital that quickly escalated into clashes between party supporters and Islamabad police. The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and other security officials. He said’Radalfasad’ force will be formed to protect against miscreants. Meanwhile, a forensic lab will be set up in Islamabad to identify the culprits. On the recent incidents of terrorism, he said that the bloodshed in Parachinar showed how bad the situation had become. But, he lamented that instead of solving the problems, the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa used government resources to drive the gangs towards the capital.
