PTI leaders clash as senior leadership resigns after protest fiasco

There are signs of a split in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership after a protest rally in Islamabad failed to achieve any of the goals set out by the opposition party. According to some reports, Secretary General of the party Salman Akram Raja has resigned. Raja submitted his resignation to PTI chairman Gauhar Ali Khan, who has not yet formally accepted it.. Meanwhile, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the head of PTI’s ally Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), has also resigned from the posts of PTI’s core and political committees. In a post on X, Raza said he resigned to stay away from internal party disputes. The participants of the meeting said that there is bitterness between former PTI chairman Imran Khan’s wife Gandapur and Bushra Bibi over the failure of the sit-in, sources said.that they have allegedly turned on each other as the blame game intensified for the failure of the protest. Gandapur told Bushra that we are only soldiers of Imran Khan, no one else. Arif Alvi for not firing workers who did not perform as expected. Bushra Bibi defended the former president, further inflaming Gandapur’s anger. In the Shaukat meeting, Yousafzai’s statement regarding Bushra Bibi was also discussed, where he said that Imran Khan and PTI leadershiphad agreed to sit on Sangjani but Bushra Bibi refused. In the meeting, Bushra Bibi expressed her anger on Yousafzai’s statement. Former Speaker Mushtaq Ghani held a meeting in support of Yousafzai. Members of National Assembly from the province have also been invited to participate in the meeting. Sources say that the Chief Minister will take the parliamentary party into confidence in today’s meeting.
