As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) prepares for its planned protest on November 24 (Sunday), authorities have imposed extensive security and transport restrictions in major cities, leaving residents stranded. And there has been a lot of disruption for passengers. Security measures were imposed early in the morning in the capital Islamabad, with all major entrances and exits of the city sealed. All roads leading to the capital were closed, especially roads from Rawalpindi and other nearby cities were closed. Container blockades have been put in place on major thoroughfares such as Iran Avenue and Margalla Road to block access to key parts of the city, including Parliament House and central business districts. In a move to prevent any public transport from being part of the demonstration, the local administration ordered the complete suspension of the metro bus service for the day. The metro bus service, which normally runs between various points in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, including the route from Secretariat to IJP Road, will remain completely closed.. Additionally, bus terminals within Islamabad have been closed, and all inter-city transport operations, including services to Rawalpindi, have been suspended. This has badly affected those who rely on public transport to travel to and from the capital city.
