Donald Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize for key role in Israel-Iran ceasefire

Washington/Oslo: Former US President Donald J. Trump has been formally nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his significant contribution to easing tensions in the Middle East. The nomination was submitted to the Norwegian Nobel Committee on June 24 by US Congressman and Republican Buddy Carter.
The nomination described Trump’s role in the recent 12-day ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel as “extraordinary and historic.†Buddy Carter said in his letter that President Trump’s leadership and diplomatic efforts made possible the ceasefire, which the international community considered an unthinkable step.
The letter added that Trump not only played a key role in establishing a ceasefire between the parties but also took bold and decisive steps to prevent Iran’s nuclear activities. According to Carter, Trump played a significant role in promoting world peace, preventing war, and strengthening the values ​​of international harmony.
“President Trump has shown the world a rare glimpse of peace by demonstrating leadership in a fragile region like the Middle East,” Carter wrote in his letter.
