Nine perish on Karachi roads in 24 hours

Nine people, including women and children, lost their lives and seven were injured in road accidents in the past 24 hours on Thursday.A man and his son were killed when a tanker hit them in Malir area. A woman, who is said to be the boy’s mother, was also injured in the accident.A dumper crushed three people to death in Ghulastan Johar. One person was also injured in the accident.The owner of the dumper has been arrested. He has been identified as Usman.A speeding bus crashed into a roadside house in Malir, killing a woman and a child and injuring one person.Earlier, addressing a press conference, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori said that blood-stained dumpers in the city were endangering people’s lives.He urged the traffic police to improve the situation on the roads before citizens take action themselves to stop heavy vehicles on the roads.
