SZA deflects Keke Palmer and Issa Rae’s question about past fling with Drake

During a “versus” segment of the popular talk show Hot Ones, SZA managed to playfully dodge a question about her past relationship with Canadian rapper, Drake. The “CTRL” singer was grilled while promoting the movie One of Them Days alongside co-stars Keke Palmer and Issa Rae.Six minutes into the spicy wings ordeal, Palmer directed the question at SZA asking, “Is Drake a good kisser?”. Instead of making the situation awkward due to the invasive question, SZA laughed it off and replied with a witty remark saying, “That’s why I said, ‘F**k you in advance,'”.Undeterred, Palmer kept pushing the topic by stating, “He must have been terrible.” SZA once again refused to directly affirm or deny her co-star’s assumption by busying herself with the food.She did however, offer insight and her perspective of the relationship by adding that she and Drake were very young at the time. “2009, we were children. Real s**t.”, SZA reflected.She had previously mentioned the same point to Rolling Stone in an interview where she said, “[We] were really young. It wasn’t hot and heavy or anything. It was like youth vibes. It was so childish”.Since Palmer and Rae were aware that SZA was dodging the question, the singer quickly turned the conversation away from herself and towards Rae’s surprise wedding to longtime partner, Louis Diame.SZA and Drake’s romantic involvement with each other in the past keeps coming up due to their collaborations like “Rich Baby Daddy” and “Slime You Out”, however the songstress has repeatedly indicated that their relationship was not serious.
