ATC orders release of Omar Ayub, other PTI leaders

The Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday ordered the release of 5 PTI leaders, including Omar Ayub and Raja Basharat, who were arrested outside Adiala Jail. Omar Ayub, Raja Basharat and Ahmad Chatha Presented to ATC. The Peshawar High Court granted interim bail to the three leaders, who were previously detained in connection with a case in Attock.. His lawyers are submitting bail orders during the court proceedings. Meanwhile, Azeem and Majid Daniyal, who were arrested in connection with a separate case at Dhamiyal police station, were not produced in the court as their cases were not under the court’s jurisdiction. ATC. Ahmed Chatha, Majid Daniyal and Azeem were released from jail following legal developments. Police had deployed tight security outside the ATC to ensure law and order. Speaking to the media outside the court, Advocate Muhammad Faisal Malik said that the PTI leader had gone to Adiala Jail yesterday to hear the case related to GHQ and was arrested despite being on bail. He condemned it as a “cheap tactic” by the police and claimed that his arrest was illegal. After a day-long hearing, he was arrested.
