PTI’s absence from APC on K-P security draws criticism

An All Parties Conference (APC) was convened at Governor House Peshawar to discuss the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) including the growing unrest in Kurram district of the province. In which various political leaders participated, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (KP) decided not to attend the gathering chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi. Conference in which Awami National Party (ANP), National Party, leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and other factions including Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Engineer Amir Makam, Maulana Lutfur Rehman, and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) participated. s) Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao. While talking to the media before the conference, Governor Kundi severely criticized PTI. Absenteeism accuses the party of promoting division and neglecting the province’s security issues. “It is clear from their boycott. The PTI has handed over the province to militants by focusing on Islamabad,” Kundi said. PTI’s absence from the conference was strongly condemned by several leaders. ANP leaders Mahmood Khan called on the federal government to stop discriminating against the Pashtun community and criticized the PTI for not participating, saying, “PTI should have been here today.”
